"You have not invested in an empty shell": on the sidelines of the inauguration, the mayor of Fayence presents the advantages of the health center to the financiers

"You have not invested in an empty shell": on the sidelines of the inauguration, the mayor of Fayence presents the advantages of the health center to the financiers

This project is the result of the needs identified in the territorial diagnosis, which highlighted a deterioration in the medical demographics and which, according to the Regional Health Agency (ARS), classifies Fayence as a priority intervention zone . Seventeen months of work were necessary for the construction of the Fayence health center responding to this problem and its inauguration took place last weekend.

The mayor, Bernard Henry , after the usual thanks, recalled the challenges of this successful project: "Bet won! Our health service is facing profound upheavals in the face of medical desertification and by building this health center, the municipality affirms its commitment to an approach which aims to support transformations towards more efficient methods of practice, thus promoting multidisciplinary teamwork in order to present a range of care guaranteeing access to quality care."

A two million euro project with heavy subsidies

And the mayor explained that "from the beginning and in partnership with the group of health professionals and stakeholders, chaired by Patrick Rouverand , the practitioners Doctors Étienne, Abad , Verdier and Phélise were involved in the entire project and more specifically in the medical project validated by the ARS. Today at the opening we have five general practitioners, two nurses, a foot reflexologist, a psychomotor therapist, a kinesiologist and three physiotherapists who benefit from a balneotherapy pool."

Turning to the elected officials and representatives present, including the prefect Simon Babre , the mayor wanted to assure them "you have not invested in an empty shell" by recalling the aid for this project of more than two million euros financed at 44.36% (910,000 euros) by the EU through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), at 4.88% (100,000 euros) by the State via the ARS, at 14.63% (300,000 euros) by the Region and as much by the Department and at 21.50% (440,000 euros) in self-financing by the municipality.

Prefect Simon Babre considered it "quite exceptional to have a project of this level" and recalled that "the State's support is total for this local health which is in danger today, even if the Var is not the worst off."

Senator Françoise Dumont offered her "congratulations to the elected officials for the mission they are carrying out, and everywhere there are achievements being made despite the complicated work of mayors to offer their constituents the same services as in larger municipalities."

François De Canson, Vice-President of the Regional Council, emphasized: "Here in Fayence, we are taking a republican action that cares, reassures, and says 'you are not alone.' It is a pact of balance between France, because it is not Paris, Marseille, or Toulon that provides care and the others that wait. Access to care is not a convenience, but a right."

Gregory Allione, Member of the European Parliament, believes that "this fine project is proof that public action can be useful, transparent, effective, and that Europe is not distant, but close to your needs and ideas."

Finally, Marine Arenas recalled that "the Department is there to fight alongside local elected officials in the face of the shortage of health professionals, particularly general practitioners."
